paulk Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Hi, Given the opportunity to test fly the JF-17 i have noticed the following behavior with the HUD. I am using a TrackIR and when i move my head forward the hud symbology remains fixed as if it is projected behind the hud glass towards the nose of the aircraft. When the view is zoomed in with the keyboard key the hud symbology zooms in as well. The problem is that when moving my head closer to the hud with the trackir the hud symbology remains small and is still unreadable. Tested this with the F-16C and F/A-18C and the same thing happens (to a smaller degree) and the hud symbology even though is closer to the nose of the aircraft than on the hud glass, remains readable. Am i doing something wrong, missing something or is this how it is supposed to work. Thanks.
razo+r Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 That's normal with HUD's. They will act like they are a fixed distance from your face. Also, if you move your head left/right/forwards/back, the HUD will "do" so too. The only way to read it better would be zooming in (decrease FOV)
