We put a special emphasis on offering more recent missions involving ISS EVA, docking and construction. We believe that the STS ISS-related missions are the culmination of STS usefulness and flexibility and as such, we decided to allocate a higher portion of the Base Mission Set to ISS-related missions. Exciting Simulations plans to periodically release new missions until the full historical STS missions set is complete. Space Shuttle Mission 2007 will be available by Christmas 2007, as a direct download from the official website at www.space-shuttle-mission.com and it will cost US$49.95 + Taxes. Space Shuttle Mission 2007 is the newest and most exciting Space Shuttle Missions Simulator available today, designed to provide the experience and excitement of the NASA Space Shuttle missions in extreme detail. From launch to in-orbit missions and landing, every button, command, and action replicates the authentic experience of mission sequences in beautiful detail. Watch the Shuttle launch from the KSC VIP location or from the cockpit. Follow through the SRB and External Tank separation, Orbital Insertion and preparations for performing the mission. Operate switches, knobs and keyboards, control the RMS and enjoy the view of a fully equipped 3D Virtual Cockpit. Deploy, capture and service satellites including the Hubble, assemble, dock and supply the International Space Station, perform Extra Vehicular Activities (EVA) from first-person or third-person point of view - getting as close and personal as possible to the tasks that Space Shuttle Astronauts have been performing in Space. Stop for a moment and enjoy the breathtaking, high-resolution view of Earth from Space - complete with 3D clouds. Watch the re-entry plasma engulfing the Space Shuttle while it traverses through the upper layers of the Atmosphere and finally land the Shuttle at the Kennedy Space Center or Edwards AFB during day or night. Each mission can take several hours to complete but don't worry: Space Shuttle Mission 2007 has several difficulty modes which allow complete novices to grasp the basics and move on to the most advanced levels. You can save any mission at any point and return to that tricky docking again. You can also fast-forward and complete week-long missions in only a couple of hours. We allow multiple Astronaut login options so you can save and share the experience and compare with your friends and family. Space Shuttle Mission 2007 is an unforgettable experience. If you've ever wondered how it feels to be in command of the Space Shuttle, to do "space walks" and float around the ISS - the biggest man-made structure in Space - enjoy the view of our beautiful planet at dawn and sunset from space, then you've come to the right place. Space Shuttle Mission 2007 will run smoothly with all options maximized, on most of the mainstream modern Gaming Personal Computers and laptops with Nvidia and ATI graphic accelerators. From FAQ: Will you support TrackIR?: Yes. If not at launch time, then via a free update soon after release. NonoXyde Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Orbiter is "other subject" about SSM2007. It is not a simulation, just an arcade mode. SSM2007 is a real Space Shuttle Simulator! P.S: An other review for french users: http://www.avionic-online.com/index.php?Mnu=SSM2007 Gooooogle
RhineHornet Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Orbiter is "other subject" about SSM2007. It is not a simulation, just an arcade mode. SSM2007 is a real Space Shuttle Simulator! Oh, I see. So SSM2007 will simulate orbital precession and solar pressure too? That'll be great. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

leafer Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I'd just get orbiter and bypass having to pay 50 bucks. Orbiter is free and is not "arcade". There are tons of FREE add-ons: launchers, aircraft, spacecraft and of course, e-hem, space shuttle. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
NonoXyde Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 Orbiter is not a realistic simulator... SSM is a real Space Shuttle simulator, with real missions with ISS construction, Hubble, repair mission,... All the cockpit is working. Orbiter too? Gooooogle
leafer Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Orbiter is not a realistic simulator... You really need to stop saying that. I can understand you're trying to sell SSM but still... SSM is a real Space Shuttle simulator I haven't tried it but I'll take your word for it. As for orbiter, it's a real spacecraft plus launchers plus space travel simulator. with real missions with ISS construction You can construct 50 space stations in Orbiter if you want to. You can do it using couple of ships. Hubble hubble bubble? What about hubble? repair mission Repair what, dead pixels on your LCD? All the cockpit is working. Orbiter too? The cockpit in DeltaGlider IV is fully functional, so what's your point? Button clicking means diddly poo. Nothing really happens when you click x, y, z. It's gonna work every time isn't it? In Orbiter, you can recreate the lunar landing, can you do that in SSM? There is more to a simulation than button clicking. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
NonoXyde Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 I can understand you're trying to sell SSM but still... You arn't understand. I wont to sell SSM, i just post in "OTHER SIM section", a beautifull new space shuttle simulator. I'm just a little user. For more information, i repeat, go to the official forum (link is on the first page of this topic) I stop the conversation now, cause you wont understand. Congratulates. Please lock this topic, thx. Gooooogle
leafer Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I do understand and honestly, if I had the money, I'd get SSM because it looks quite interesting. It's when you said orbiter is not a real simulation that got me all bent out of shape and turned me into a twisted jackass. Sorry. I need a few good women at the same time is all. teh ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Guest nikica Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hi I have a problem in Space Shuttle mission. In STS-124 after undocking from ISS I must perform a heat shield inspection. When I move the OBSS there (on the yellow triangle) nothing happens. What's the problem??? Can somebody help me??? Thanks.
Yoti980 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I've had this since the day it released!! It is truly an awesome space shuttle simulator.. Having used orbiter as well I have to give it to SSM07 hands down.. Not trying to spark the war here but as a user of both and a pilot there is no contest between the two CARRIER AIR WING EIGHT [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] BLACKLION 204 F-14D BuNo 163159 Fighter Squadron Two One Three LCDR James "Rat" Trapp http://www.cvw-8.org

It is quite informative and I'm sure DCS would like to keep the troubleshooting and support issues on SSM07's site and not their own CARRIER AIR WING EIGHT [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] BLACKLION 204 F-14D BuNo 163159 Fighter Squadron Two One Three LCDR James "Rat" Trapp http://www.cvw-8.org
