Best Audio Quality

Recommended Posts

Hi to all,

What are your AUDIO settings for DCS?

What enhancements could i bring to it for a good sound (windows sonic? bass boost? etc).

I'm actually having :

  • a ALC1220 (strix Z390 H gaming) it had been quite a big mess just to use (i hope properly but not sure) the right realtek drivers...
  • a NARI Razer headphones
  • win10 64

Sound is so user specific, it is hard to give exact recommendations. How you set things up, will depend on if you plan to use speakers attached to the back of your motherboard primarily for DCS or whether you plan to use your Razer Nari headphones most of the time. Typically, flight sims do not benefit as much with strong bass as first person shooters, but everyone has individual preferences. I typically dial in a neutral sound stage and then adjust slightly.

If you plan to use mainly speakers attached to your motherboard:

First, turn off your Nari wireless headphones and set them to the side. Then, you need to update the drivers for your Supreme FX S1220A codec. The latest Realtek driver that ASUS has listed is the 6.0.1.8666, found here:

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z390-H-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/

(under audio drivers)

Next, use the Sonic Radar III software suite (this is included on the DVD that came with your motherboard, and you need to install it if you want full functionality for the S1220A codec), to dial in a bit of bass and set your surround stage to your individual preferences (without turning on your wireless headphones).

If you plan to use mainly your Nari wireless headphones:

Update to the latest version of the Razer 3 Synapse software, found here:

https://www.razer.com/synapse-3?_ga=2.172781539.1762093309.1586863605-1905978121.1586863605

Then, use Synapse 3 software to update the latest firmware to your Nari headphones (that firmware can be found here: http://drivers.razersupport.com//index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=964&pcid=804&nav=0,78,804&_ga=2.159351802.1762093309.1586863605-1905978121.1586863605 )

Then setup your THX Spatial Audio and soundstage from inside the Synapse 3 software. (this must be running for you to take full advantage of 3D surround sound and extra positional effects)

Hope that helps!

Nice and full answer, tx
