Hey all, I just recently got into DCS world. I bought the T16000 pack with throttle, pedals and stick and a TrackIR. I picked up FC3 and the F-18 and have to say I'm having a really good time so far.

My question is regarding TrackIR. It seems to be fairly stable but when I look down into the pit it seems to drift a little bit. Enough so it makes pushing buttons difficult. If I zoom in a little on the Hornet DDIs for example I can't push the buttons because it's moving too much. In the TrackIR software if I look down and hold my head very still, it starts drifting downwards and keeps going. This isn't just a little jitter, it's a fairly steady drift.

The transmitter is lined up with the reflectors and is about 2 feet away. The camera view doesn't show any extra IR reflections behind me so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Has this happened to anyone else and how did you solve it?

Thanks!

Just poor tracking, or not a good view of the IR source usually. In my case I slightly bumped the rotation rate (so the camera moves farther with less head movement) to avoid extremes/awkward angles. That should get rid of the issue. Also, IR lights are a bit more reliable than the reflectors, but they both are a little flakey if you get near the outer envelope.
