I am having an issue that also happens to me even before todays patch. When I set the HUD as SOI and set a SPI, that SPI will move with the planes attitude while the HUD is SOI. As soon as another SOI is selected, the SPI will stay in place, which I believe is what would usually be intended.

I recorded a small video of this issue (ignore the first 15 seconds of me not remembering how to reset the SPI)

(Here's a link to the video as well, since the player doesn't seem to be able to handle it.)

Unfortunately the video is not playing for me. Do you possibly mean the slewable HUD cursor? It’s locked to your attitude even as you skew it but once locked(if ground locked is within 10nm) it’s ground stabilized, and as long as that’s the last designation it will remain SPI. Is that possibly what you mean or am I misunderstanding and you are aware of that functionality?

No slewing is taking place. I'm simply planting the SPI on the ground in front of me and then it wobbles around with the plane. I've updated the first post with a direct link to the video with the issue.

Sorry I can not view the video right now, but there is serval consideration U could taken into account:

1. Once U select HUD as SOI in AUTO mode, a diamond(same as SPI marker) will apear that alow U to slew.

2. The diamond can only be ground stabilized at close range and command a new SPI.

3. If U mark a point too far away(ie. 20NM+), the diamond will not be able to ground stabilized and the new SPI is not created. the diamond will remain its relative position on the HUD.

I set the SPI at fairly close range, 3.5 NM according to the HUD. Also, the NM decreases and increases with the attitude of the plane, as if it's moving the SPI away and closer when I pitch the plane up and down respectivly.

You might be looking at slant range

If you do not have the diamond ground stabilized, then it is NOT your current SPI, the range info is based on your current SPI, not where the diamond pointing.

Well thats the whole issue. It's like its moving the SPI while I'm moving the plane. Check the video and see if I'm doing something wrong.

Ok, I've viewed the video. The problem is the MODE you are trying to use the HUD designate.

Hud designating SPI is current working in AUTO(CCRP) mode, so it is behavior strangely when you select the BRM rocket.

I'll confirm whether it should be used in DIR launch mode. THX for the report.

I believe in a way that this has been related to the issue that I experienced with the targeting pod which is now solved.

The issue was that the slider axis on my Virpil TM-50 throttle was "jittering" which gave the targeting pod the impression that I kept changing the zoom levels which caused it to stay out of focus.

Now fixing that issue, also meant that this issue is now fixed, so when I put a SPI on the ground it stays there.

HOWEVER, I did a small experiment where I put a SPI on the ground and then moved the jets attitude up and down while changing the radar attitude as well. Doing this will move the SPI. I am fairly certain that it is not a feature of the JF-17 to have the SPI move when you move the radar azimuth and the jet at the same time.
