Important announcement - stop using ModMan, 5.x version to avoid problem

Hello all

first happy new year !

just a little world about people always using ModMan, 5.x version

believe me, 5.x version won't work fine anymore with latest mods due to the fact that some latest mods required some features present ONLY in 6.x version.

5.x version always contains serious bugs which can completely corrupt your lockon installation.

(specially with latest mods)

your house will not explode ;) but you can avoid problem by stopping using it...

i'am perfectly aware that some on you have no problem at all with 5.x and i agree because it just mean that you didn't install some addons which will corrupt your lockon installation

ModMan is a free product, i have no interest to ask you to move on 6.x version.

i just want to warn you.

latest ModMan version is 6.3.0.0 (released 01.06.08 )

use it to avoid problem and enjoy latest features (used by some mods/addons)

you are now perfectly aware mr president ! ;)

Best regards

I'll take it off my downloads section on my site tonight. Skypat- one question.

Does modman work on Vista? If so- what version, and I'll go on and assume you "run as admin" and all that.

I have not installed modman or any of my skins since moving to new rig.. I'd kind of like the skins back, but I was reluctant to use Modman on Vista.

I'm running Modman 6.2.0.0 on Vista Ultimate 64bit with no problems and it does not run as Administrator explicitly

:)

Do we need to un-install all MOD man 5 then reinstall it in 6?

Or will Mod man 6 do that by over-riding Mid Man 5?

To be on the safe side, I recommend to uninstall all Mods, then install ModMan 6.3.0.0 and re-install all your Mods.

I did this with previous upgrades of ModMan and it always worked flawless.

Yup, that's what is asked for you to do in the install notes of the 6.x versions :)

Cheers
