Hi All,

I've just recently got in to DCS and dug out my TrackIR 5. I'm using Spudknockers profile and on the whole it works great, however there is one incredibly annoying feature in that when looking up (pitch) the view will "flip" when exceeding about 90 degrees. I found an old post on this:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170547&page=4

Apparently it was resolved, however I am experiencing the same behaviour using Open Beta 2.5.6.47224 and the FA/18 Hornet. I can't find a way to stop the view flipping when hitting 90 degress for example in the TrackIR software (admitedly been a few years since I last used it) am running the latest version of TIR 5 client software too. I just want the view to hit a hard stop once it's limit is reached, it makes dogfighting incredibly difficult with the current behaviour.

Can anyone shed some light, am I doing something stupid? the TrackIR is not losing track and all the other Axis seems to behave perfectly.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Ross.

Not Track IR

DCS has head movement modeled with Track IR.

Might be able to model better,

but it works with a realistic head movement model,

your head, IRL, has its limits, in the cockpit,

you have to roll your head to view behind you,

physically improbable.

I Think, but maybe not Entirely correct:smilewink:

Hi Dispatch,

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that, the issue I am describing is not that I want to be able to move my head in the vertical to an excess, but I want the view to "stop" when the liimit is reached. Is it possible to override this somewhat odd default behaviour by modifying any config files or similar?

in TrackIR profile

select pitch axis,

~ at the bottom of the graph window "True Head Angle"

adjust far right end, of the graph(max up) from say [ex 45 deg] in towards middle to about [ex 15 deg]

Adjust as needed - "Save"

Shows mirrored

Hope this works for you

So had a play, and I actually think it was a TrackIR setup issue. Finally seem to have got it sorted out and all is working well. Will continue to tweak. The "flipping" has stopped and it's really usable. Thanks for your suggestions Dispatch, much appreciated!
