It sounds like an issue in your Windows 10 power settings. I will not be able to check on my PC until later, but I think if you go into your power settings there will be an Advanced options tab in which there are settings for USB.

It sounds like these may be set incorrectly

After a lot of tests and headaches, I found the problem

It's not clear to me how they are related

The fault was between microsoft edge and thrustmaster hotas warthog gear and ch pedals

I would use the microsoft edge only to open PDF

I just switched to other software and hope it works fine

Thank you very much for your help :-)

I was on this forum for an unrelated reason, and came across this thread. My screensaver hasn't worked since I upgraded to windows 10 in September. So after reading here, I unplugged my CH pedals, and low and behold....... the screensaver worked.

I don't use edge, and I couldn't really find the USB power option. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I also don't use edge but was set to open PDF

Once I opened PDF, his process remained open

Worth starting a test on this

If not correct, check that CH pedals are not connected via a USB splitter

and removed nvidia experience (If installed)

There is a lot of screen saver issues once external devices are connected

The computer wakes from the screensaver when you move the mouse or press a key, right?

I don't know, but it seems plausible that input from a USB device would do the same thing. And if you have CH pedals, there'll likely be constant jitter and change in the axis. This could be interpreted as activity, which will prevent the screen saver from activating.

But it's just an idea.

Yes I have same issue and while I have not tested the theory I did feel that it was related to the constant jitter from sim gear (as suggested by Sabre) which is always connected to PC. Bit of a pain but just been living with it. I have wondered if I added some deadzones (I never run deadzones) on software if this would help but again not tested theory.

I don't think deadzones will work since the computer will still need to receive the USB inputs before it can work out whether the readzone limits have been exceeded.

Having checked my PC I don't have a screensaver set, but do have my monitor set to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity (I also physically turn it off if taking a break). Screensavers are no longer necessary to protect the screen (unless you are still using a CRT display)

Thats exactly what it is. I have to have a deadzone of at least 7 so the constant jitter doesn't effect my rudders in flight. It's a pain.

Correct... deadzone will have zero effect on the raw input from the device.

Thanks guys
