ADHS Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Hello. I always like to programming my HOTAS as i don't like to use the clickable cockpit function ability. There is no Keyboard map of ALL the functions that i am looking for. Even in the HTML exporting map, most of the keys are blank. Even a simple full PDF will be usefull. Thank you. Deano87 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Why not just bind the control in DCS? Then you don't need to know what key is bound to what. Also it allows you to use the built in DCS button modifiers functionality which gives you many more keybinds. What HOTAS have you got? ADHS Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 (edited) Deano87, thank you for your reply. If DCS was the only game that i am involving, yes your suggestion will be the better choice. But, Falcon BMS 4.34 is the alternative of DCS that has much more many functions than my DCS modules (F-16C, M2000, Harrier, A-10). In comparission, functions, variety on payload and systems control, DCS looks like an arcade. So as you can see, by switching from game to game is not wise for me to have different buttons/functions on my sticks. F.e. GEARS are toggle with the same button. And this is why (based on each game shortcuts) i am ADDING on my basic COMMON profile the same buttons for the same functions, for all of my games. And this is the reason WHY i've started this thread. Thank you. My HOTAS: Saitek X52 Pro, Saitek Pedals PS: Sure DCS settings are beautiful and in details, but for me, is not practical at all, for my games range. Deano87 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I still don't understand, sorry. All the aircraft in DCS have different keyboard controls, as they all have different user interfaces inside the cockpit, so I don't see how you can have a unified Joystick to keyboard profile which will control all planes. I generally find it better to bind the controls for each aircraft direct to the joystick individually. I have common controls bound the same across all my aircraft, gear is the same button etc etc. I also fly BMS, and I don't see any massive difference between the number of bindings between the DCS F-16 cockpit and the BMS cockpit. All my HOTAS controls are bound as per IRL in both sims. ADHS Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Deano87 Saitek gives me 3 Bands with 6 sub bands. No matter the different shortcut between games, (after passing the shortcut keys) i can push/use the same common HOTAS buttons. Hope this make things clear.
