JasonJ Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Hey guys. Just starting out in the F/A-18 a few days now. So forgive me if this is a stupid question. I was wondering if the dedicated HOTAS button for the "Targeting Pod's, NAR/WIDE FLIR/CCD toggle" is used by any other controls? Hard to imagine that only one control is used by that button. Seems like a waste. As I understand it, this button can be used to toggle NAR/Wide view and hold for 1 sec to toggle FLIR/CCD mode. Reason I ask is I noticed by fluke that the HOTAS Radar Elevation Buttons also controls the Targeting Pod's FOV + / - zoom. Was very happy as this saves two more buttons for other uses. After finding that nugget, I was wondering if also the NAR/Wide/FLIR/CCD toggle button does anything else as well when not using the Targeting Pod. If so, I might be able to use get back a free button for something else. I don't have a Warthog Stick so I can't check the default warthog control assignments and what they are assigned to. Hope this makes sense. vstolmech513 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 It also switches the FOV for Mavericks from Wide/Narrow, as well as being able to cycle through targets (FWD Short) and Hand Off to the HARMs (AFT Short) in TOO (Target of Opportunity). If you don't have or aren't using Chuck's guide, might want to give it a look and find out that and much more https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=212282

JasonJ Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Great info, thanks guys. Makes more sense now. I can see the advantage of NAR/Wide/FLIR/CCD toggle and make better optimisation of my bindings. :thumbup: Edited April 24, 2020 by JasonJ Sim Rig || Pics 2010 | PC 2019 || 8600K @ 4.8GHz | RTX2080ti OC | 32GB RAM @3000 | 500GB SSD | Win10 64bit | PC 2010 || 2600K @ 3.4GHz | Zotac GTX680 | 8GB RAM | Win7 64bit Ultimate SP1 | Cockpit || Joystick: T.16000M | Pedals: Logitech G25 | Throttle & Collective: Logitech Attack3 Modded | Button Box: G25 Shifter | Cockpit || HP Reverb VR | Custom Frame & Seat | 3x Bass Shaker | 2:1 Game Sound | 2x Rear Head Rest Speakers Comms/Music |
