ingTimotej Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hello, I am interested to know if it is possible to use default DCS buildings as placeable static objects in the Mission Editor using a mod of some sort. This way I could place a bunch of flats and even possibly recreate a non modeled part of the Caucasus map, like Bulgarian cities for example, and use them to fly in. It would really be great to be able to place trees, flats, houses or even bridges. Thanks, Timotej Krajčovič
dooom Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 there are indeed some static buildings you can place but no real support for trees. That said, my gut is suggesting that if you placed the statics in any large density you might face some FPS degradation. ruxtmp Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 If you place a very large number of static objects or a significant number of static and dynamic objects in mission editor DCS will crash. I made a template for the Persian Gulf map that has a few hundred objects and since the 2.5.6 update it crashes to desktop when loading.
ingTimotej Posted May 21, 2020 Author Posted May 21, 2020 Oh, ok then, thanks! Guess I have to be a developer to edit the maps :)
