unhappytroll Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 It seems to me, that NS430 module holds a not up to date info about nav points (which is, probably, understandable). Аs a quick check, it shows NOLSA nav point west of Gelendzhik, but SkyVector site list this point as RUGAN. So, the question is, can we have up-to-date nav info in NS430? or where we can find a nav map, SkyVector like, but with data from current version of NS430? i5-2500k/24Gb/MSI GTX1060/Logitech G940/VKB Cobra Z/TM Cougar MFD/VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle/BRD-MS3 Rudder Pedals FC3/Ka-50/Mi-8/AV-8B/UH-1H/CA/L-39/Yak-52/MiG-21/NS430/ A-4E-C/MB-339
Ramsay Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 (edited) It seems to me, that NS430 module holds a not up to date info about nav points (which is, probably, understandable). Аs a quick check, it shows NOLSA nav point west of Gelendzhik, but SkyVector site list this point as RUGAN. So, the question is, can we have up-to-date nav info in NS430?The NS430 is designed to use game data derived from/for DCS World. RL data won't match what is / isn't modelled in DCS and needs to be adjusted to match DCS's maps i.e. IRL Batumi RWY 13 = 126°M but in DCS it is at 120°M AFAIK you can edit "DCS World\Mods\aircraft\NS430\Cockpit\Scripts\avionics\terrain\navaids.dat" to add/adjust approach diagrams, waypoints, etc. Not sure how well documented it's data list is but NOLSA is there, so you could try changing it's name, etc. ... or where we can find a nav map, SkyVector like, but with data from current version of NS430? The NS430's approach diagrams are undocumented, you can "sort of" work out how to fly them using info from their RL equivalents. unhappytroll Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Yeah, I found that file. it seems it was taken straight from the device, I started to check them, but it is a looooong way to go. Approach diagrams can be checked against Jeppesen STAR sheets too, if I will find all airports. i5-2500k/24Gb/MSI GTX1060/Logitech G940/VKB Cobra Z/TM Cougar MFD/VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle/BRD-MS3 Rudder Pedals FC3/Ka-50/Mi-8/AV-8B/UH-1H/CA/L-39/Yak-52/MiG-21/NS430/ A-4E-C/MB-339
