Real2Sim Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 Hi everyone, I've noticed on the Arleigh Burke, when landed, the aircraft is floating above the deck. Also the pole behind the helipad is really annoying and I haven't seen it in any IRL pictures. It does not allow straight in or oblique approches but only abeam ones. Thank you very much for all your work !

Honez Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 (edited) The pole is an RF antenna for the comm center (what I did in the Navy) it is lowered during flight ops. In fact the antenna they have is not the style we had at all. That one looks fixed. If you look at any recent pics of it on the net you'll see it's not fixed to the deck like that one is.
