Help with Discord voice channels

I'm asking for help here because, as many users that Discord has there is very little help that I can find.

 

When I get onto the server I want to play on and join the Discord channel that is used for comms sometimes the other people in the channel are listed on screen. When they key their mike the name highlights so I know who is talking.

 

Unfortunately I only get this list sometimes and I want to find out how to turn it on and off.

In Discord Go to settings, the lil gear on the lower left side look for overlay and click on it the setup is in there..hope that helps
