Hello folks,

there is something I don't understand. Maybe you can help.

So, lots of Sticks do have a low height compare to a bigger movement-radius in actual fighter aircraft. Even after setting up the curvature, I still feel the need to multiply every axis-length by 2 to make a smoother riding possible. It all feels still too jerky with my HOTAS Cougar (curvature around 18-25 depending on the aircraft).

What am I missing here? How to make roll/pitch more precise and not suddenly extreme on the axis ends?

One of many examples: I can't find the right setting for the rudder of the F-14 with a curvature. It's starts smooth and gets really too much after making the input a bit too further (left or right). Can't hold the aircraft stable during dogfights. I doubt that Tomcat pilots had so many problems fighting the aircraft controls as I do.

Do I need to install some sort of a longer-stick-extender in my HOTAS Cougar stick-base to make it finally work or can I alter some more settings to achieve the same without a "stick-height-extender"? It sometimes feels like trying to precisely fly with a gamepad, a 1mm movement on an axis equals 50% movement on the stick in-game.

Greetings & thx guys,

Cabal

You indeed want to extend the size of your joystick. Without extending your joystick you can adjust the saturation Y to get similar result, but that will limit the output of your axis and so.. While it might be ok for cruise, it won't be ok at all during combat for exemple. Still, if you like that idea I can propose you a way to change the saturation Y OnTheFly, thanks to 3rd app software.

Curve.. Curve is what make you feel that "How to make roll/pitch more precise and not suddenly extreme on the axis ends?".

With curve you gain accuracy near axis center but at the expend of accuracy at axis edge.

The proper way to get more accuracy is to physically extend your joystick.
