Still no canopy lever you can click in the F-14?

I know Jester does it for you when you arm the ejection seat but why after all this time do we STILL not have something to click on to close the canopy in the F-14? What if I'm in multiplayer? I know there's a keybind but I play in VR and fumbling around for ctrl+c on my keyboard is annoying. Sure I can bind it to my HOTAS but to me that's a wasted button I can use for something more important.

 

Come on Heatblur you know about this.. seems like you forgot all about it. I know it's under the "block / shroud" and you can look under there but there is nothing at all that's clickable! Is it so hard to make that little piece of metal down there clickable? I don't even care that much if it doesn't animate.. Hell I don't care if just clicking on the block works...

What I personally do to alleviate such issues, is using a programmable mini-keyboard such as the Razer Orbweaver: I have attached it to my Warthog throttle (which in turn is attached to a WheelStand Pro for Warthog), and programmed it with several macros and key combinations.

The keys are large enough to be easily found and pressed blind when using VR.

I have macros for connecting ground power, ground air supply, arming the ejection seat (so I don't have to get myself any more neck problems by clicking it manually in the cockpit), etc etc.
