  1. Why are the Iglas SOOOO bad? In real life the Iglas are suppose to have a 5km range... yet I can't get any lock until I'm half that range. I also found that while they do have a very small explosive charge.. it takes TWO at least to kill a Huey.. forget ever shooting down a Hind or something! It's not consistent with the ground manpads Iglas at all. I mean at 2km I might as well be using my guns! They do more damage! What's the point of even putting this missile on the aircraft? I was looking forward to being able to try and defend myself vs air threats, at least vs helis. Why is the Igla so nerfed on this helicopter? is 5km too much range? It just isn't making any sense based on real world statics. Don't give us an Igla to use ED if you are going to make it worthless.
  2. I can confirm this is an issue. Mentioned it before in another similar post. Only is a problem if you are in multiplayer and you are in the CPG seat without another player in the heli. You can't set ANY waypoint or target point at all.
  3. Yup having exactly the same issue. Works in single player. Not in multiplayer if you change seats. Can't make waypoints either as CPG.
  4. the SAS has gone completely WONKY since the last patch came out. ver. 2.7.18.30348 The patch before we had the constant SAS warnings... sure.. that was annoying.. but it flew well. NOW it's just unflyable.. the SAS keeps teedering back and forth and it's just un-flyable for me. I can't get it to even hold a hover. I tried holding trim reset for 3 seconds but just keeps doing it no matter what. It seems to be effecting the rudder and collective the most. This module has had a ton of issues with this since release... getting a bit tired of it. I know it's early access but hell I'd like to fly the helicopter I paid money for. At least USE IT you know? At the moment it's just not useable.
  5. I have heard nothing back from him since sending him images of the issue. It's been days. He responded in the beginning right away. Not sure why he's not responding. I won't assume he's ignoring me yet.. too soon for that. It definitely does not fit. Here are the images I sent rel4y. You can see the posts below the senor in the first image but they are mirrored on the other side of the clamshell casing. You can see what I mean in the top of the second image. If you look you can see the blue diode thingy on the left side of the sensor sticking out far too much to clear the post. If you flip it 180 the two posts on the other side have the same issue there is not enough room between them. You can angle the entire sensor 30-45 degrees or so so that it misses the post but then it does not calibrate correctly.
  6. Doesn't work for me. At all.
  7. You can absolutely overspeed it. It will 100% go into retreating blade stall. You can also put it into VRS... it's just very hard to do because it's weight is far too little. It tends to "float" instead of dropping when you drop the collective to zero. It floats so much that it's hard to build up enough speed to get it into a vortex ring state... and that's why people think it doesn't go into VRS... it's something you have to really try hard to get into. If it had more mass, and thus more inertia, it would be much easier to get it into VRS...
  8. INU does not need to be grounded to align since the Apache has GPS. You can take off and let it align in flight. I do it all the time.
  9. Who is saying you can't? Yes you can. You just HOLD up on the George controls until the indicator on the George controls turn green. He will then be in fire at will mode. You can put it back the same way.
  10. I just tried to install the pot replacements I got from rel4y into my CH pro pedals (for the yaw axis, aka z axis). Word of warning: they do NOT fit into the assembly. The unit has posts that intersect where the replacement has wires and a blue thing (diode or something?) that's connected to it. The whole is would of needed the slots that keep it from spinning to be turned 90 degrees off from where it is now in order to fit. I have no way of closing the unit up like this and it's completely useless to me. So if you have a CH Pro Pedals and you are looking to replace the yaw pot with rel4ys's stuff.. technically it would probably work.. it fits into the stuff that turns it.. but it does NOT fit into the pedal assembly at all. You can't close it up as it intersects the electronics and it's in the way. So unfortunately I paid for something I can't use now.
  11. It still works it's just not updating on the HUD. It also has never updated on the MFD (from the start).
  12. Yeah I agree there's not enough mass on the Gazelle. There's some other issues as well.. but a lot of people think it's WAYYY off when it's not really like that. Certainly it responds too quickly with inputs but I really wonder if that comes back to mass (which effects momentum etc). It is however a very twitchy helicopter IRL... I hope they eventually do get it adjusted with a new FM... but even after that I'm sure we'll still see some people complaining because they don't think a helicopter can do what this helicopter can do.
  13. I will leave this here with one caveat, I know the Gazelle is off with the flight model. It's definitely too light and when you add weapons on it it doesn't even change in weight. Having proper weight would go a long way to it having momentum properly. That being said, it has a rigid rotor system, just like the BO-105 (in fact the same one). It can change direction quickly. It is a very light helicopter. Does it overperform (in DCS)? Yeah pretty sure it is. Can it do these things IRL but to not such a degree as in DCS? Absolutely. You wanna see UFO helicopters? Here ya go: BO-105 Gazelle Lynx Apache
  14. There is nothing strange about pulling a loop in a Gazelle. The real helicopter can do it too. The Apache can do it. The Hind can do it. This is NOT strange. She gets shot down just fine for me. It does seem a little bit light with it's mass... I would agree there's some issues there... but yes it can do aerobatics. Has the same rigid rotor system that's on the BO-105. They use that helicopter for aerobatics in air shows and is sponsored by Red Bull. BO-105, same rigid rotor system: The Gazelle needs some adjustments in DCS for sure.. but it's NOT what people think usually. This chopper can do this crazy stuff.
  15. Are you using the IHADSS set to both eyes in VR? if so you'll see two crosshairs when trying to align them on the boresight alignment. The only way I have found to get that to work is to center the alignment between the two crosshairs you can see.. it works. The issue the perspective is from both eyes so the crosshairs are aligned to infinity then, thus why you tend to see double when looking at something in the cockpit for anything on the IHADSS. the correct aiming spot then is between them both. If you are using just the right eye... well then I don't know know what you are doing wrong.. you just align the crosshair with the boresight bullseye and align the circles to be concentric.
  16. @R.Z. Yes actually the Kiowa can do MORE than the Apache... cause the Apache (the version we are getting) cannot use Stingers or the APKWS (laser guided rockets) but the Kiowa can.
  17. Yes ok I know I can click on the base of the stick (however I forgot about that recently) but why is there no keybind? Also still.. no pilot body (and there is a keybind for that)
  18. I know Jester does it for you when you arm the ejection seat but why after all this time do we STILL not have something to click on to close the canopy in the F-14? What if I'm in multiplayer? I know there's a keybind but I play in VR and fumbling around for ctrl+c on my keyboard is annoying. Sure I can bind it to my HOTAS but to me that's a wasted button I can use for something more important. Come on Heatblur you know about this.. seems like you forgot all about it. I know it's under the "block / shroud" and you can look under there but there is nothing at all that's clickable! Is it so hard to make that little piece of metal down there clickable? I don't even care that much if it doesn't animate.. Hell I don't care if just clicking on the block works...
  19. I'm able to engage auto hover without issues. Single player and multiplayer. You just have to have the heli in a stable hover first. It's very picky about that.
  20. Show pilot body is not working in the openbeta (2.5.6.49314) version of the KA-50. I've tried to remap the keybind just to make sure but it's not working. There's no way to show the pilot body. There is also no keybind to show/hide the control stick. If you have the control stick hidden by default in the options (I usually do) there is no control stick shown in the KA-50. However in helis I like to see my control stick so I often just toggle it back on. Unfortunately there is no keybind to do this. So I have to keep that option off but then now I have to toggle off the stick in all the other aircraft I fly where I don't want the stick to be seen by default. Considering both of these are simple keybinding issues I'm sure it should be an easy fix?
  21. I have bad performance... but I'm NOT using Steam version... and I'm running it in Oculus mode (since I have a CV1). So your "fix" doesn't help me at all.
  22. Uh... actually the KA-50 is ALREADY getting an RWR in the rework. The KA-50 they fielded IRL (although still not a production model) HAD an RWR. It also had the IGLAS (which we are also getting). It also had an IR warning system (which we are also getting). And of course the laser warning system already in the helicopter in DCS.
  23. I never said the hardware was incapable of running on Win 7. But if Oculus wont' allow the software that is required to use the headset to run on Windows 7.. you can't use it on Windows 7.
  24. Great. Your not having the problem. But you don't see what all the fuss is about? 15fps in VR with a RTX 2080, 32GB DDR4 RAM, i7 6700k oc to 4.4Ghz... if you had that issue would you be making a fuss? I think you would. That's what all the fuss is about. Other people ARE having the issue. It's very real. Just because you aren't having it doesn't mean the people that are should be ignored (not that we are being ignored by ED).
