luigipsic Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 like manual says...there are two mode...dogfight and missile override...when i select missile ovveride the fcr doesn't go in acm mode automatically...When i select dogfight it goes in acm automatically...When i go in missile override and select manually acm there is the indication no rad...i don't know if there's a bug like you say in the dogfight mode... that should show the no rad indication but ther's another bug in selecting the missile override mode that doesn't turn the fcr radar in acm mode...Thank you ED

Frederf Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Totally normal everything you say. MRM override isn't supposed to put the FCR into ACM specifically. If memory serves MRM will put FCR into the last-set radar mode for MRM or maybe some kind of CRM. I actually don't know exactly the rule but I know for sure it doesn't force ACM. The point of MRM is quick selection and support for a medium range missile (i.e. AIM-120). Normally people use MRM with a CRM radar mode. ACM initializes in 30x20 standby (non-radiating) when first selected if there is no current target in CRM. It awaits a further command to enter one of the radiating modes. That's normal and correct. If you want to employ MRM with FCR ACM (quickly) then you would typically select DGFT in order to get FCR ACM and then using MSL STEP to change to the AIM-120. That's a two button press to desired configuration.

Beware: there is a current defect, that when having a locked target, switching to DGFT and subsequently to ACM will drop that target. That is not correct and was reported already. Where MO may not mean compulsorily ACM mode as it is personal preference in reality and is a DTC selectable option as well. Having said that, MO must remember its last selection of ACM (if manually selected once) and must not return to CRM every time. Presently, it is returning to CRM mode if you cycle through any other mode and back to MO. ED..! Suggest to take a look into it. Thanks.
