Talvid Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 I'm learning to trim nose up and use throttle to control glide path while landing the hornet, AOA, FPM centered in the E bracket and such. Id like to know if theres an ideal tail horizontal stabilator angle to start at when landing on the carrier, and/or at an airfield. Like when we catapult its between 16* and 19* depending on weight. What should I trim the pitch to on the downwind leg just so I'm not guessing on final? VR rig -
Tholozor Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 (edited) Trim to whatever gets your velocity vector inside the E-bracket for optimal AoA, that's it. You don't want to shoot for a specific stabilator angle, because in the landing configuration, the only thing the jet cares about is AoA.
