silent one Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 Ive had to shift to a new computer. ( burgled grrr ) So first time playing a a month. Im finding that Im getting some vibration or jerkiness in cockpit graphics now. I cant tell if this is a new vibration / turbulence thing or if my setup has an issue or if its a bug. I dont remember this in the fa18 before. Its only slight but its annoying. Help in this much appreciated :)
Arbil Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 When I upgraded to a higher resolution monitor it felt that way at first. Just actually noticing the buffeting where before with a lower resolution it wasn't as noticable.
silent one Posted June 7, 2020 Author Posted June 7, 2020 fxo and metashaders2 try deleting. What are those and where do I find them :) Thanks for the idea. As for resolution. I had identical computer ( thanks insurance guys ) and the same resolution. 1440p So I cant work out whats changed. Track Ir isnt optimized yet, I think I have all my settings set at high default. Same as before. Im trying to work out whats changed that is giving me this effect. Is it the computer. Dcs, Some update I dont know about , or something else thats causing this shaky effect. ?
fitness88 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 (edited) If by shaky effect you mean the screen is stuttering then I would suggest going into your: Saved Games\DCS.openbeta you'll see both folders there. After deleting both, DCS will refresh with the newest shader files upon the next start of DCS [may take a bit longer on initial start]. Many including me do this procedure after every update and have found it can do a lot to eliminate this issue. If you have your settings up too high for your system to handle this also will create this issue. Edited June 7, 2020 by fitness88
silent one Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Unfortunately that didn't fix it :( My new computer is identical to the one I had stolen. But this one has this problem. 32gig ram. a 2080ti and Im still getting this cockpit shudder. Where the original comp was silky smooth on high settings.
silent one Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Solution. I was using a Cougar modded throttle and had mapped zoom view to a range knob. I guess dcs doesn't like the old patentiometers in the range and antenna elevation knobs. It seems that a bit of spiking or variance in the knobs was causing the back and forth juddering in the cockpit. So bugging hardware thing, but at least i got to the bottom of it. Thanks for your help guys . Appreciated :)
