2 builds ago I was able to use the mission editor to trigger scripted failures on the F18, now the field just comes up blank, am I using it wrong or missing some voodoo change or something ? or broken ?

Pretty sure I had it set to Player, but it is possible I had it set to client .....I will check, thanks for the heads up, I wasn't even aware it made a difference before, every day is a learning day tho :)
