C701's hard to auto target

I'm having an extremely tough time targeting vehicles with the C701 auto targeting mode in TV. When i originally tested these missiles they seemed super awesome and easy to use but over the last couple weeks it's been a frustrating process. Is there something that could be limiting they lock on feature? Or an ideal way to use it? Using the WD7 alone does not work as i'm sure that's as intended?

Of course figure it out as soon as i post this...ugh

 

 

Figured out my issue, i didn't realize you need to hit the target lock button to get the bug mode enabled before it will actually lock on units.

 

 

However i did notice it locks to trees at times...

I find steering it very difficult. Slight flight adjustments and the missile flies elsewhere.
