TaxDollarsAtWork Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Given that the plane said to have an APG-63v1 according to its DCS manual and carries 120C5s and has an MFD shouldn't it also have upgrades at the very least with regards to radar detection and radar / gun modes such as a Super Search mode (from about the mid 80s MSIP) and possibly even some form of EEGS? (90s ish) let alone possibly even Link 16 JHMCS and AIM-9X compatibility
Frostie Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) Even though Belsimtek state in the manual, AN/APG-63(v)1, as far as I can gather it doesn't have the cockpit to match that upgrade. The cockpit in DCS dates back to the -1 manual updated in 86. There are no APG-63(v)1 controls on the left panel and no FDL controls on the left and right panel. https://www.f15sim.com/images/left_console_new.jpg Edited June 12, 2020 by Frostie "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. dundun92 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Im pretty sure super-search has been around from the start based on what I've read. The -34 from 1981 has it, and the book "Tiger Check" mentions it as well, I do not know why we dont have it. Same with the slewable guns, we should have that. Guess the F-15E will have to do until we get DCS F-15C. Now for the datalink 9X etc yea our Eagle doesnt look like its supposed to get it. Eagle Enthusiast, Fresco Fan.
