RustBelt Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Iracing cost 800 a year just to be able to run the software. Cars and tracks are paid additionally, and if you don't pay the subscription you don't even get to use the cars and tracks you additionally paid for. And yet, it is quite successful as a business model considering how long they exist and the size of their player base. When you're like me and my LeMons team, and you throw away a couple THOUSAND DOLLARS on a race weekend, iRacing doesn't seem "too" expensive. Their car selection is weak sauce though.
Vertigo72 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 you throw away a couple THOUSAND DOLLARS on a race weekend, By that logic, if this is to be believed, operating an F16 costs over $22K per hour. So it wouldnt be unreasonable if DCS with the viper module costs a couple of $100K ? 1
