Crashing Upon Startup

Hello, I also posted on reddit but I still don't have a fix so here i am. My game consistently crashes (force closes) when its trying to load the main menu (hanger scene) i can see the yellow mig29 then as soon as it starts to add color it crashes. I verified game integrity through steam. I changed my page file to 16gb. I renamed my DCS folder in saved games so it made a new one with no mods at all. I deleted and reinstalled the game. Started in VR and non VR mode. Switched from Openbeta to stable and back. I manually removed all leftover files and started fresh after uninstall. I disabled full screen optimization. I disabled antivirus. I removed overclock and even underclocked. Windows, DCS, and video drivers are fresh and up to date. Im at a loss.

 

PC specs are an i7-6700k, gtx 1080, 16gb of ram, zero issues before i left for a while.

Hi

 

Try renaming your dcs folder in your saved games location.

 

example: C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

 

to

 

C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbetabackup

 

then restart dcs and login.

 

this will rule out a setting, config, or unofficial mod issue

I tried just about everything on the planet. Using another hard drive and downloading standalone worked for me to play. I transferred the saved games/DCS folder over and everything in there works so that wasn't the issue. Sorry I don't have any insight on what the problem with the steam version is:/
