felixx75 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Hi, is the seat adjustment switch in the cockpit working? For me it seams not to do anything, and I can't find any keybinding for it in the settings.
gtsab Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 They have good adjustable seats at Staples, I use one. haha, couldn't resist, sorry. Actually try the ctrl-shift-then a keypad number, you should be able to shift around.
Wakeshift Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I agree with gtsab: Rctrl+Rshift+(numpad) is what I use, but it's really "head adjust". I don't think the in-cockpit seat adjust is useful. Fly well! The in-cockpit adjustment is very useful. I used it about a year ago (last time i flew the AV8B regularly). But it seems to be a bug.
Fri13 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I don't think the in-cockpit seat adjust is useful. It is useful. As you do proper and realistic seat height change as required, instead resetting your view to somewhere else. In VR it has huge effect because you do not feel to be hovering over your seat when you feel with your bottom that what you see as a seat height to be same. Same thing is with the seat back, that when you lean backwards that your back touches the seat you see. For the desktop use there is not so much use at all, but for VR use it has the big. But this is the same old thing as that A-10C had for long long time for TrackIR, when looking downward it looked that you were sitting top of the stick, on edge of the seat. And in VR it was even more awful as you were your nose on the HUD. When setting up the A-10C (that has proper seat height adjustment) seat position so you feel like you are in actual seat, and then you change your height by adjusting the seat height with the correct switch in cockpit, it makes huge difference in the immersion and "in the cockpit" experience. So that in navigation you raise yourself as much up you can, and when going for the low level combat you lover yourself inside the "armored bathtub" to get as much cover as possible. Hopefully this will be as well in the future modeled in the new damage model, so that you are actually more protected from the ground fire and fragments based your seat height and head position (virtual body). i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Captain Orso Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Using the in-cockpit seat adjustment is about as effective as Jennifer Connelly pulling on the reins.
