Prelude Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) Hey just wondering if there is any real-world documentation on the Litening pod so I can confirm if the pod is behaving normally or if it's bugs. The issues I'm wondering about are as follows: Issue 1: Slewing the pod once I've cycled through area, point, and back to opr. You can slew in opr (no target designated), the pod stays in snowplow mode wherever you slew it to. Can't slew in area or point, but can use the offset for fine tuning your target. Once you cycle out of point track, the pod stays in an "area track"-like mode (instead of snowplow mode that it started in with opr mode) and you can no longer slew the pod unless you cycle vvslv or designate/undesignate a target. Issue 2: Once you target designate in opr mode, your reticle will change to a diamond and the pod will constantly automatically update GPS coords to your weapon as you slew the pod around. Cycling through area, point, and back to opr will let you slew the pod (unlike if you didn't have a designated target) Issue 3: Using offset cursor in point track mode, then cycling to opr mode will snap the pod to the offset cursor's location. There is no way to snap the pod to the cursor's location while in area track mode. Issue 4: there is no indication that a target has been designated with an offset cursor, other than watching your weapon station receive new coords. I.e there's no way to see what your new target is on the screen. Issue 5: there is no way to slave the pod to a point (like waypoint designate) without the pod sending those coords to your weapon station. I can deselect the weapon station, slave the pod to a waypoint, but then as soon as I select the station so I can drop my bombs, the pod zaps coords over to the station and overwrites my original target coords. Issue 6: Offset cursor isn't bound by the edges of the screen so it can fly off and get lost somewhere Edited June 13, 2020 by Prelude
maxTRX Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) I wouldn't mind having a peek at it myself.:) Edited June 13, 2020 by Gripes323
imacken Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I posted about issue #5, and got a [CORRECT AS IS] mark. A lot of the behaviour you mention are changes made recently. AFAICS, they are all correct now. I can't figure out why you can slew in opr mode at first, but then after you cycle through area and point track, opr mode no longer slews
panton41 Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Don't think of them as "bugs" think of them as "features." If I slew in OPR, then cycle through area and point track back to OPR, I can slew as normal. Flagrum Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 I'm not seeing that behaviour. If I slew in OPR, then cycle through area and point track back to OPR, I can slew as normal. To replicate this bug: make sure that no target designation exists (i.e. TPOD shows no target diamond in OPR). For example, right from snowplough mode.
