will the trial week be on steam?

my mate uses , will he be able to get them trial? im trying to lure him into the cat lol.

Unfortunately the free trial will be available on standalone only. We really wanted to bring this trial to Steam, but we could not make it happen this time. You will have to grab the standalone version to participate.

 

That said, we will be working hard to make sure that our products, events and sales are planned with parity on both platforms in the future!

 

Also my sincere apologies to all whom we replied to already with "yes, will be on steam". We really thought it would happen until the last moment and are disappointed ourselves. However your friends could simply download the standalone for the free trial, and then purchase it on steam afterwards if they like. I know it is less than ideal, but at least they can still try it like that. :)

I would suggest that for the trial he only downloads the base install including caucasus. Else he would have to transfer his keys, and if he wants to stay on steam ofc I wouldn't recommend that.
