The current ejection seat in the Tomcat barely gets the crew clear of the airframe and in many situations, does not. This is obviously not a huge deal but I was wondering if this is an accurate representation of the ejection seat or if another more powerful one is planned.

If you take a look at NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1 section V it gives the seat envelope curve. From what I’ve seen, the seat operation seems pretty realistic. They are not infallible and a high sink rate at low altitudes will reduce the chances of a successful ejection

Yep, altitude, speed and attitude limits decide if it's safe to eject.
