I don’t mean to offend but compared to other F-16 simulators (that are not to be mentioned here,) the RWR sounds in the DCS F-16 sound pretty bad. Not to mention the fact that there are only like 5 different sounds for the entire system as opposed to 30+ for the other sims. Is this RWR scheduled to receive a sound update with custom threat sounds or is this it?

The current sounds are copied from the hornet i believe. I wonder how hard it is to simply record the real viper rwr sounds and paste them in the dcs viper sound folder. Or copy paste it from bms...

The Viper hasn't used the RWR sounds from the Hornet in ages. Over a year?

Since the RWR in the Viper modulates the actual received radio waveform for it's alert, and the specific waveforms, PRFs, and operating modes of real radars tend to be pretty closely guarded secrets, getting real audio is pretty hard. BMS invented sounds that seem realistic enough. DCS is doing the same.

Simply copying the BMS sounds into DCS would be unethical.

I expect we'll get more sounds as the Viper module is developed, but I can't say that for sure.
