Supmua Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 A very neat new function from the latest SteamVR beta. https://uploadvr.com/valve-index-room-view-3d/ With 3D translucent passthrough, I could see my hand and peripheral devices in DCS cockpit view. This makes it easier to operate buttons/switches in VR. The catch is that your surroundings have to be fairly dark or it'll show up as well, and it also drops FPS a bit. Anyway, it's a pretty cool technology and if done right would make me play in VR more. PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti. spec10 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Pretty cool feature. Makes my Streamdeck buttons visible perfectly in a dark room. Downsides are, I wish I could toggle it with a HOTAS button, and I am sitting in front of my screen, which I can't turn off because it acts as a USB hub for me as well. So the passthrough is a bit distracting ;)
nrosko Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 the 3d scales better but isn't a huge difference imo & its very glitchy there is lots of warping & distortion. Win 10 64//4.5g i7 Kaby Lake//gtx Titan x pascal//16gb 3200ram//Asus Maximux Hero IX//Oculus Rift//
