FanBoy2006.01 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Hello, I do not know alot about computers, so I just want to ask the members here of their opinion. I have already bought the thing so I want to know if it is a mistake or not. It is a Intel Media Series 'Dragontail Peak'. Here is the specs: Intel P35, LGA775, FSB1333, 4xDual DDR2 800, 1xPCI-x16, 3xPCIx1, 3xPCI, 5xSATA(Raid 0,1,5,10), 1xeSATA, 1xATA133, Gbe Lan, 8ch-Sound, Max 12xUSB, 2xIEEE1394, ATX (Viiv) I payed aproximately $147.00 for it (According to current exchange rate.). Basically, I want to know if it is a good motherboard at this current time or not. I could have gotten a more expensive motherboard; but this was what I had bugeted for.
Kuky Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I used to have Intel motherboards before and I find them very solid and stable (as all Intel stuff) but not very overclockable as they don't provide many options for custom settings (eg raising FSB, voltages etc) in motherboard BIOS. PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
FanBoy2006.01 Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 Thanks for the info. I wanted to get a ASUS motherboard; but my supplier were out of stock. I am not going to overclock the board at all.
Kuky Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 If you don't intend to overclock Intel motherboards are very good choice. PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
