Indeed it is an LA9 the worlds only flying one, picture taken at Wanaka in NZ this Easter ... here is another more obvious image I took.

I delete my post about La-9 because I think it was erroneous.

Well, next riddle:

What he doing?

(It is joke, just a joke. This picture was posted by Flanker here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=878921&postcount=1301 and here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=878927&postcount=3076)

Can somebody tell me the name of this aircraft before I'll go off-line for a while?

The cannon seems to be a 30mm single barreled cannon, on the under side due to the shadows. It seems to be either a older aircraft model or a slow mover, due to the profile af the muzzelbrake.

100 ml adrenaline for this thread :bounce:

Edit: Let me try a guess although I think I won`t hit the right answer - some Lockheed P-2 version, XP2V-1 maybe?

No Topol :)

High Aspect ratio wings .... long thin ones are suited to specific roles, One of these roles was specific to this design

It will be interesting to see what that aircraft comes out to be. I had no success finding out its name, it is a sneaky one. :D
