Falby Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 While waiting for a new Hotas before getting back into the Tomcat I've been watching as many tutorials as I can about AAR and I've noticed none of them explain how to counter probe induced yaw. There were suggestions offered in another post I posted but actually seeing it in action would make things easier. Does anyone know if there are any new or updated ones?
IronMike Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 It is so minimal, that you can usually neglect it, which is why none of the tuts mentions it. If you feel you cannot, then simply apply very slight counter rudder. Falby Posted July 5, 2020 Author Posted July 5, 2020 The tutorials that I've seen from Jabbers and Maverick etc seem to have no induced yaw. I thought they were made before it was introduced tbh. But thank-you for replying, I'll try slight rudder trim when I get back in the cockpit.
IronMike Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 That's correct, now that you mention it. They were done before release, forgot that. But, the practice for you here is simple: apply just as much rudder so that the side slip indicator is centered. only then fly the attempt.
