  1. I would call getting shot down and then flying again in a few seconds a fake capability. But we all do it!
  2. Maybe it's an attempt to re-populate the Navy with Tomcats!
  3. One of my favourite sims was Janes F-15E,so I was really excited to see it was in development, but that excitement is quickly waning now, so much so that I'm pretty sure I won't be buying it.
  4. Looks like a dot label to me
  5. As jcdata said by the late 90's early 2000's all models of F-14's were fitted with DFCS
  6. One thing to remember is that was done before probe induced yaw was added which makes things a little different.
  7. I'm using 442.40 with TrackIR and have no problems.
  8. Received my mounts today. Was looking forward to getting it set up over the weekend, but I had an email from Monstertech warning me not to use the screws provided for the stick mount as they are too long and may damage the PCB! They are sending some correct length ones plus some nuts for the throttle so I'll have to wait a bit longer.
  9. From main screen go to options then gameplay, on the right of the screen is Labels drop down menu, use dot only.
  10. I can't be sure but it looks as if he is using dot labels.
  11. Whatever it is I hope it's not too soon! I would rather see them concentrate on fixing and finishing what we already have.
  12. It's a no from me as well. If you you want those weapons the Hornet is what you want. The F-14 only ever used dumb bombs in their various guises or LGB iirc which is why I prefer it, it's more about flying than lots of different systems. It is for me anyway.
  13. I've just remembered that when I first started DCS I set up a simple mission just to fly around and get a feel for the F-14, so I set unlimited fuel and of I went. After a few runs up valleys and using afterburner just to see how fast it would go the master caution light came on and panic set in thinking I'd broken something! It turned out to be bingo fuel warning! somehow I activated the fuel dump. So with the F-14 at least you can dump fuel to get to trap weight even with unlimited fuel. Just thought I'd mention it.
  14. I think in the end if ED thinks it may make money, they'll do it whatever the Poll says. While I would like to see it eventually, for the present I don't think they should add anything new at all. Just fix and complete what we already have even if it takes a year or more and maybe look at things like this again then.
  15. @ BIGNEWY You are right of course and tbh it's serving no useful purpose now.
  16. Just for the record, at no time have I actually asked for it. I admitted in an early post that I would use it, I actually stated in a later post when I realised I could use auto-pilot that I wouldn't use it even if it was introduced. But unlike a lot of people here I do have have consideration for other people.
  17. I refuel using auto-pilot in the Hornet, it's a "cheat", so what! It makes no difference to how other people play does it? To those people who may not like the way I play you have 2 options, just accept it or find somewhere else to fly. I don't care either way and I'm not going anywhere! I bought the module so I'll fly it anyway I want!
  18. I was thinking of buying SC and PG, but after paying out for a new hotas I couldn't afford it!
  19. The tutorials that I've seen from Jabbers and Maverick etc seem to have no induced yaw. I thought they were made before it was introduced tbh. But thank-you for replying, I'll try slight rudder trim when I get back in the cockpit.
  20. It sounds to me as if it's related to weight. You need to be around 33k lbs or lower. At that weight your airspeed should be around 130-135 knots.
  21. While waiting for a new Hotas before getting back into the Tomcat I've been watching as many tutorials as I can about AAR and I've noticed none of them explain how to counter probe induced yaw. There were suggestions offered in another post I posted but actually seeing it in action would make things easier. Does anyone know if there are any new or updated ones?
  22. For a lot of ppl it's not about time spent trying. Over the last 2 or 3 months around 75% of my time flying has been trying AAR in both F-14 and F-18. Results zero AAR in F-14 and around 50 in F-18. Reason why I can do it in F-18 is I cheat by using auto-pilot controlling with just trim. As long as I don't move the stick I'm able to refuel consistently. The reason for this is I shake irl. I can't carry a coffee without spilling it if it's full. So please don't tell me it's because I don't spend enough time trying. I've even ordered a new hotas to see if it'll help. It does frustrate me so much that I can't do it I've stopped flying my F-14 now and also means I probably not buy any other planes that need AAR.
  23. Thanks for that I've only ever used mouse wheel, never thought of keybinds.
  24. IIRC the external view FOV is fixed at 60, scrolling the mouse wheel just moves you closer or further away. It may be possible to change in lua files but I know nothing about doing that.
