Hi guys, I’m currently having a issue with mapping for my Thrustmaster A10 warthog. I went through the process of mapping my HOTAS for the F18 hornet and I saved the profile. When I start up DCS I go into settings and controls and load the profile only to find there is switches and bindings that have allocated to different controls. It is really annoying having to remap my HOTAS everytime I play DCS and its rather time consuming. I use one modifier for the hat switch. I use the hat switch for view slow and trim as I am awaiting delivery of my RIFT S VR. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you saying you lose controls after every DCS start? Save profile is only for backup purposes or if you want to change between some set controls often. Mind that "profile" is not whole set of controls - it's only the file containing differences between yours and default profile - more, it is only for selected device (one column in controls) and selected aircraft. Be sure to click on any binding on the proper column first to load/save profile for selected device.

Thanks for your reply draconus. Yes I lose controls every time I start DCS. Could it be because I unplug my HOTAS after I shut down my computer ? This is what I do before I play DCS. Plug in my HOTAS to USB ports on PC. Fire up PC. Load DCS. Go to settings. Then Controls and load profile. I load the F18 Profile which I mapped and saved in the previous session. Are I’ve loaded the F18 profile I scroll down the controls (ALL) and see there’s buttons and switches allocated to both Joystick and HOTAS and some switches and buttons which I allocated and saved in the previous session are not there anymore. I hope I have made this clear for you. Thanks for you help.

As I said just make sure you load/save the right profile, that you click the proper column before clicking load/save. Maybe upload a short video on how you do it?

Do I need to Map my Throttle and Joystick separately? At the minute I am mapping them together

You can map everything at one go but to save all the mappings you have to save all the devices separately (name the files properly to not confuse them later, ie. F-18_throttle) as they appear on the controls columns, ie. one file for keyboard, one for throttle and one for joystick. When you load the profile you have to load both throttle and joystick to the proper column as those were disconnected, got replaced with default bindings and you need your profile to be loaded. It depends on the device if it shows as one or more.
