Weegie Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I'm just starting with the mission editor and trying to learn it. Not exactly finding it intuitive. I made a VERY simple mission for Multiplayer which has some FA-18s and they can overfly a couple of airbases protected by SAMs, Guns etc: Sukhumi has SA-13 Strela units (IR SAM) protecting the base and Gudauta ZU-23 gun emplacements, Sochi has SA-8 Osa (Radar Guided SAM). When I play this in SP it works fine but when I load it onto a WebServer the Strelas and ZU-23 just don't engage. The SA-8s work fine. I know that what works on SP and MP can be 2 different kettles of fish I wondered (blindly hoped) though if somebody with more experience knew of any workarounds or could perhaps tell me where I'm going wrong. There surely has to be a way to get IR missiles and flak working in MP. It's just I'm too stupid to figure it out I've attached the mission file Be very grateful for any pointersFA-18C Caucasus SAM Test #2.zip
QuiGon Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I'm not aware of any difference in regards to air defense between MP and SP. Can you attach the track file of the MP flight, where the SA-13 and ZU-23 didn't engage? Btw, I don't think DCS is supposed to run on a WebServer ;) Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Weegie Posted July 21, 2020 Author Posted July 21, 2020 Well its a normal server and is controlled by a web interface, I think DCS orginally called it a web server but have changed the name to "DCS World Open Beta Dedicated Server" I've attached the 2 files of tracks, one on the client i.e. running as SP on standalone then trying the same mission through the server. Many thanks for lookingTracks.zip
QuiGon Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Well its a normal server and is controlled by a web interface, I think DCS orginally called it a web server but have changed the name to "DCS World Open Beta Dedicated Server" Well that's a very important bit of information that was missing in your first post! Unlike the normal way to host a server from within the game, the dedicated server does indeed behave differently at times. I just took a look at your track files and that does seem to be some kind of bug with the dedicated server. At least I can't see any reason why they wouldn't attack you. Weegie Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Apologies if I misled you and wasted your time QuiGon. I do appreciate you taking the time to help me. Looks like I'll just need to live with the Radar guided SAMs for now Thanks for assisting me
