I recently came back to DCS after taking a hiatus shortly after the viper release. Since coming back, I have been unable to access any DCS server at all. Nothing shows up on the server browser, I can't connect via direct, and after trying to direct connect, upon trying to refresh the server list, I get the message "Server Offline."

I've tried fresh install of the game, repairing via steam, DNS flush, windows update, port forwarding. I'm at a loss.

Attached is my Wireshark network diagnostic, and my latest DCS .log file

it can be connectivity to the MP servers. you need not have any port forwarding to reach those servers. you would need to have port forwarding if you were hosting a server. also it may be that no servers are running the version you are. maybe the Windows or add on AV firewall? just reaching here. also found this.

I'm running latest openbeta build, nothing blocking it in firewall, in fact I've allowed DCS.exe in and outbound on both UDP and TCP

- Edit: I wasn't in open Beta after reinstalling. However the issue persisted before the reinstall

can you temporarily disable the firewall to test? only a test but can you host your own server?

Firewall off, still nothing. Hosted server, nothing

so i did a test on my end. my capture shows that first set of results show connections to

nslookup

Name: digitalcombatsimulator.com

Address: 91.134.1.104

Src: 192.168.1.157, Dst: 91.134.1.104

then as the MP screen populates i see connectivity to the individual MP servers on the MP ports

192.168.1.157 54.39.130.42 UDP 71 58128 → 10314 Len=29 (dst ports vary)

in your capture i see lots of TCP to dcs but nothing UDP port 10308 or higher.

I try connecting, but it doesn't even attempt to. I get no error, just nothing.

I can ping the server via CMD and get a response, but DCS doesn't see or connect to it

Please check IPv6 protocol enabled

My provider does not offer IPv6, and I haven't changed provider in three years

I enabled IPv6 on my adaptor, and it worked. Thank you

It's very strange issue, we still can't reproduce. I suspect as a possible reasons some software keeps socket. Or some net service doesn't started.

interesting enough, one of the first captures shows

51 3.471389 fe80::528:9645:2b1e:92ff ff02::1 UDP 91 58128 → 10308 Len=29

but it looks to me that digitalcombatsimulator.com does not resolve an IPv6 address whereas google.com does. perhaps this is the issue.

nslookup google.com

Server: Fios_Quantum_Gateway.fios-router.home

Address: 192.168.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: google.com

Addresses: 2607:f8b0:4004:808::200e

172.217.9.206

nslookup digitalcombatsimulator.com

Server: Fios_Quantum_Gateway.fios-router.home

Address: 192.168.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: digitalcombatsimulator.com

Address: 91.134.1.104

seems that IPv6 is not routing to digitalcombatsimulator.com

Thank you so much!

I've solved enabling the IPv6 protocol (TCP/IPv6) inside the ethernet controller properties, despite my ISP doesn't provide me an IPv6 address.
