Flap extension noise

When you press the extend button for the flaps there is a motor noise. Sounds just like in the mustang. I thought the flaps were purely mechanical? Is this something else?

If your gear is up then you will hear a warning signal.

 

 

Otherwise there shouldn´t be any noticeable sound.
