OrdMan87 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I just purchased the HP Reverb VR headset and now when I fly missions the cockpit is flooded with light. I was told that the setting were to high and that was causing the overall lightness when I'm in the cockpit. The issue is I do not know where to go to reduce the lighting for the VR headset. I've tried searching in Window Mixed reality and in Steam VR to reduce the lighting just to the point I can see at night with out having to us NVG mode. Can anyone help me with this issue. During daytime flights everything is so bright and at night its like looking out the cockpit through a hazy view. OrdMan87
imacken Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Have you looked at the Gamma setting in DCS? FoxTwo Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 This mod: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=281666 and Gamma at 2.0-2.2 Then understand that the lighting was changed in 2.5.6 and all the cockpits need to be set to minimum on the lighting knobs in the cockpit right now to keep things reasonable.
imacken Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 and Gamma at 2.0-2.2 Wow! I use 1.4! kenb Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I will try the mod you mentioned this weekend. I hope this helps.
kenb Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 i have increased my gamma setting to 2.2 so now at least I can still have some visibility during night missions but now my daytime flights seem a little washed out but not to the point where I can't fly, I did try to download the shaders file mentioned above but I'm not sure if I did it right. My platform is DCS stable version.
Csgo GE oh yeah Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Yes you did it right. You must choose : See anything in the cockpit while outside looks terrible, or have a pitch black cockpit while outside looks normal. Just DCS things.
