littlewing Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Hi guys, I remember back in the day (like 20 years ago) when I use to show my dad the graphic difference between 640x480 to 1024x768 - My dad didn't see any difference. I was in shock that he didn't see any change! Now I feel the same, I'm new to dcs and I found that I don't really play the game, I only try to increase my fps, It became a weird thing to me. Anyway in Syria I got 20 FPS on ground, in the air around 40 FPS but not very stable. I clicked on 'low' in the graphic settings in game to set everything on low and I had around 40 FPS in Syria on ground. From there I tweaked textures to High and got almost the same results 40 FPS. Then tweaked the terrain texture to high as well - Again the same performance overall. The thing is I didn't see much difference in graphic between low and high - I didn't test it much to be honest. I'm using Rift s, rx580 8gb, 32gb ram. Is it only me?
Svsmokey Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 My own thinking is that the higher terrain textures are only needed for 4k monitors , as i note no difference with the S . I previously used the CV1 , and before that a 1080p monitor , and was unable to discern a difference with those as well . 4k or Reverb - maybe a different story ? 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2
