Hi, after DCS update, I get the following error window when starting gremlin:

9708aee89d02e8c3ea84270c946cc1b6.jpg

It won’t open, so I can’t see where the issue lies....

Any ideas how to resolve?

Thanks

You have the Winwing HOTAS, right?

This is why I uninstall SimAppPro. When it opens it creates three vJoy devices that are all the same and JG can’t deal with it.

I recommend setting your desired backlighting in SimAppPro and then closing it. After that, go into vJoy Config and fix your desired vJoy devices... just make sure they have a different number of axes or buttons from each other (I only use one device, so I’m fine).

After that, if you ever open SimAppPro again you will have to repeat the process. I chose instead to update firmware, set my backlighting, and uninstall it.

The latest SimAppro update fixed this apparently

I wasn’t aware. I don’t know if there’s a good reason to use it, though. I fly only in VR and don’t need the APU light. I set my AB curves inside DCS.

Is there any other capability that makes using it worthwhile?

Great for Head track users but not required for VR...I'm the former. Tried VR for a while but just could accept the lower graphics quality

Thanks, I do have the win wing throttle....don’t run sim app, but did last week to update the firmware and check my AB detent settings as per Mustangs guide he posted. That’s when the issue started, maybe it’s running still...

If I uninstall the app, do I need remove the 3 devices it created ? Or are they required ? As I notice these are also shown in DCS controls , where they take space for nothing.....can I safely edit them out of the .lua file to remove from there as well?

Dated 21st sept, I uninstalled, but gremlin still gives same error....I found the .lua files in my saved games config folder, for the 3 devices and removed them.

I will try re installing

You may have missed where I said to run vJoy config and to reset your desired vJoy devices.

Hi, did not miss that , tried, but I could not run vjoy to use the config, it would not let me.

So I then tried uninstalling. This seemed to go okay, did a reg clean up, restarted and tried to re install gremlin and now it seems to install then hang with the set up green bar at around 99%.......

Tried twice same thing..... not sure how to proceed

Joystick gremlin issue

I’ve had that happen where it appears to hang. You can just right click on the taskbar and close the install program and it should be fine.

Your install complete message is hidden behind another window I think.

Interestingly, despite having removed the .lua files from my saved games joystick file, when I start DCS, I can still see the 3 vjoy devices in the controls gui

That’s because they’re still showing to Windows. To fix that you need to delete them in vJoy Config.

Just tried that, no hidden window. Right clicking on taskbar gives me a close window option, but does nothing when selected. If I try and move or click on the install window, I just get a “computer says no” beep

Don’t understand how they still show if vjoy is not installed yet?

Don’t understand that either, but you can check the Windows Game Controllers panel or use JoyIDs (which is what I use) to see the controllers that are connected.

I think I remember this better now. The devices are showing because at this point, vJoy IS installed.

Click the cancel button. I think you’ll see your complete message then.
