How reliable do you find Automatic Carrier Landing

I feel like i always have to manipulate DLC in order to barely catch the 4 wire with it engaged. I feel like it bolsters fairly frequently.

What I do (newbee coming from F18 ) to compensate ACL wire-#2 propensity is rhythmically click DLC-aft to force an ACL 'overshoot', don't just hold DLC because that will be auto-corrected back to a short landing,

until the VV is exactly there for wire-#3 (that's at the threshold), and either I just let go or tap DLC-fwd if I deem necessary.

I think it correlates with wind-over-deck, not sure, of the top of my head in own ME mission, with higher wind-over-deck the ACL does 3-wire.
