[RESOLVED] PCN Wind Direction always Zero above 3000ft

Hi,

 

The DV/FV position of the PCN is designed to display the Wind Direction (Direction du Vent) and the Wind Force/Speed (Force du Vent).

 

It works OK at low altitude up until ~3000ft. Above this altitude it only displays the Wind Force, but not the Wind Direction anymore (this parameter stays stuck to zero).

 

My guess is: it's coded only to the low altitude wind of DCS, whereas the weather panel has different settings for Ground Alt (33'), Low Alt (1600', direction automatically set from Ground setting), Med Alt (6000'), High Alt (26000')

 

Provided track shows the bug. Registered on DCS OB 2.5.6.55847

Winds set as follow in mission editor:

33ft: 10kt to 300° (i.e. 120°/10kt in usual real world wording)

6000ft: 30kt to 160° (i.e. 340°/30kt in usual real world wording)

26000ft: 40kt to 090° (i.e. 270°/40kt in usual real world wording)

 

The Mirage shows:

10kt to 300° on the ground = OK

20kt to 300° at 800' = OK

13kt to 0° at 3000' = KO; and the direction remains at 0° at any altitude > 3000ft.

Direction is shown again correctly as soon as you descend < 3000ft.

I've been noticing this for quite some time now. I have another track: Caucasus Free Flight Start, PCN will start showing the wind direction only above 17000ft. Tracks and weather conditions attached.

Sorry for the delay in answering, wasn't able to do that before.

 

Just tested again, on the most recent OB = 2.5.6.58125

 

I created a new mission from scratch in this version (to be sure), and used the same parameters as before (see 1st post).

The bug is still present. Please find here a new track made with last OB version (and new from scratch mission).
