gey guys.

Today I wanted to approach Ramat David and found a house directly in front of runway 27.

maybe you can fix it for the next release.

thanks!

btw. the roof of the house looks incredible!

Theres houses there in real life, 27 also has a displaced threshold, I expect for this reason.

despite the parking lots beeing displayed as factory buildings google says the distance from the threshold to the first building (see picture) is about 540m. given the 2.5° glideslope the building shall have a hight above 23m (540m*sin(2.5°)=23.5m) - which is quite tall and way to big for a building quite close to the runway...also you can see on google earth that there is no building directly on the center line...

Where your second screenshot shows you are does seem to correspond to a building on googlemaps, and while I dont fly the Viper it does seem your jet is indicating your AOA is low and your landing bracket is putting you into the fence, i.e you are below the glidepath and aiming low? Perhaps try and approach following the jets indicators and see if you are still in the way of the building?

As an F-16 virtual pilot, I can confirm you seem to be too low on the glidepath based on velocity vector and AoA. I landed on RW27 in Ramat David yesterday in the Viper, did not notice those buildings as being "too close". Also the runway is quite long there (especially compared to Haifa :music_whistling:) there is no need to aim for the first 10cm of the runway. :smilewink:

Yeah it seemed low for the hornet, but then you can really slam it in, I thought maybe you Viper boys did things differently

I guess you found the diff between slamming and low profile approach:pilotfly:

There are plenty more buildings which are way higher on the syria map than they seem to be in reality...But maybe we will get a patch for this...

Any idea if those buildings are automated or handplaced?

The buildings are there in real life. Runway 27 is very rarely used for landings. The most telling evidence is the skid marks on the threshold. Compare the skid marks of runways 33 & 29 vs 27 in the google maps picture linked by shu77. There are hardly any skid marks on runway 27...

Cheers!
