Pyker Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 (edited) Hi, I downloaded the Red Flag training campaign for the Tomcat. It's very nicely done, but I have a problem at mission 6, the one where I play the aggressor. I cannot start up the plane because the ground crew won't respond. In the campaign's thread, the author explains that it's probably because I'm red team (aggressor) on a blue base, and suggests to edit the mission to either spawn hot on parking or to change the base (Nellis) to red. I did that (both) in the mission editor, and when I play the mission from the "mission" menu of DCS or from the mission editor, it works, but it does not work when I do it from the campaign. The plane is still cold and the ground crew still does not respond. Is there some kind of "override" setting in a campaign that can force the player to always spawn cold and dark even if in the mission it is "hot from parking" ? Or is there something I did wrong with the mission editor ? (I just know the basics.) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3304391/ https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=247793&page=4 Thanks in advance. Edited October 7, 2020 by Pyker
RaisedByWolves Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Sounds like a question for the ME forum.
Pyker Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 I know. But here I should have more chances of finding somebody who played that campaign and knows the problem.
kaba Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 There is no setting to override the spawn settings, instead you have to edit the mission itself as you have done. You mention that this does not work when you play it via the campaign - the only reason that would be the case is if you have edited a different mission file to the one that the campaign loads. You need to make sure you edit the mission file in your campaign folder and save it, don't save a copy or edit a different file.
Pyker Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 Thank you Kaba, you were right! I had installed the campaign in the Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns folder, and then I edited the mission file that was there, but in fact the mission file that I had to edit was in the Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en subfolder. For some reason - probably my mistake when I installed the campaign - there was a copy of the campaign folder in each directory, and I hadn't noticed the one in the \en subdirectory.
