SmallsTheAmish Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Hey all, Just a suggestion for development. Trying to use the KY-28 in the F14 with my group, but the device can only be used with a human RIO in the back to physically control the device. My request is for either 14 Pilot keybinds to control the KY-28 from the front, or an additional Jester menu to enable the KY-28. Thanks.

SmallsTheAmish Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 What is it? The KY-28 is a radio security device seen commonly in other western aircraft as the KY-58. In a nutshell, the KY-28/58 is loaded with secure "keys" that encrypt a radio transmission. Only those who are running their radios in the green and with the same key will be able to hear your transmission. Obviously important IRL for COMSEC overseas and in hostile environments. This is a functional feature in SRS. Whenever your radio is encrypted on ciphertext, SRS will reflect that on your radio tab, and it plays a sound effect when transmitting secure. If someone is transmitting on secure and you haven't loaded and are running the same key, you will hear static on SRS. Neat feature, almost totally unnecessary for our means, but a neat tool for immersion. 1
Whiskey Greg Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Great, now I can't escape COMSEC in video games either. Thanks, guys. 1
