LANTIRN lase

I set my laser code on the ground to match bomb and I set automatic laser but when I drop the gbu it never tracks the target. Laser is armed and I see the L on the LANTIRN display. Am I missing something? Says 10 seconds it should auto lase.

A solid L is just indicating that the laser is armed. A flashing L is indicating that the laser is actually lasing, so if you don't have a flashing L the laser isn't lasing.
