leafer Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe I think Hopkins is going to destroy him but you never know. I got fifty bucks on the executioner. X ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Frostie Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Calzaghe for me. Hopkins is 43yrs old and this fight will probably be going the distance. As long as he doesn't get sucked into a cagey fight im confident Calzaghe can win it, especially after watching him destroy Lacy.:). "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. leafer Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 :D You're right, this might go the distance. Yes, Hopkins is old but the man is a smart fighter. Man, I can't wait. I just hope it doesn't turn into one of those big, hyped up fights where they just pranced around and occasionally mixed it up. Oh, Hopkins is old, but at 36, Calzaghe isn't young either. :) ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Frostie Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Oh, Hopkins is old, but at 36, Calzaghe isn't young either. :) What you talking about, im 36 next month.:D "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. Flyby Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Calzaghe by decision! I saw the fight last night. Calzahge won by split decision, but actually it should have been unanimous. Hopkins turned old in front of my eyes. He even faked being in great pain from one light low blow (where he was pulling Joe's head down) and a phantom low blow. He was making excuses, if you ask me. Also he held so much I thought he'd found a new dance partner. I don't see how he can NOT be permanently retired now. Calzahge was the man last night. Hopkins is going on a special diet of humble-pie now. Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
leafer Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 damnit, Hopkins!! 50 bucks down the drain cuz ju got tired. lol Seroiusly, I honestly thought this would be another Hatton v Mayweather. Hats off to Calzaghe, though. Now, there's already talk about him fighting Roy Jones...hmmm... dare I say Roy would whoop...ok, I better not. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Flyby Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Hmmm...Roy Jones Jr against Calzaghe. Maybe he'll show that he shudda stayed retired too? Boxers are mostly like that. They stay too long and go out being beaten by younger, hungrier talent. On the other hand, he still retains some of his blazing speed, and he did give Hopkins a boxing lesson during the jurrasic period. leafer Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 Jones is way past his time, at 39, but he's no slouch.; it'd be an interesting fight. Too bad they never fought when Jones was in his prime. Not to take anything away from Calzaghe, but he'd have been schooled in a bad way. Check out this vid, the best six-punch combo in boxing at 2:54. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

By the way, I like your new look. Bet ya get a lot of chicks...running like hell. heh j.k. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Flyby Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Leafer! (I know that name has hidden meaning) the fight of the year that no one saw was brutal! That battle went back and forth as each man would run out of steam while the other surged with momentum. Both took turns getting the snot knocked out of them until the fight was stopped. I reminds me that sometimes taller fighters fight short, and let the shorter fighter get in and exchange blows. I know those were some tired legs, as movement died off in the latter rounds. A gutsy performance on both parts. Everyone got their money's worth. As for my new look, the wife keeps me bound up like that for what she says is my own protection! :D She still hasn't explained why the cattle prod is necessary.:music_whistling: Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

Sorry old man, She has no sister. Rumor has it that she had a twin but strangled her while in the womb!:music_whistling:I don't need a "detox", as you put it. I'm already ****ing my pants whenever she comes near me with that thing! :helpsmilie: Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
