Fully dynamic campaign for Blackshark? Is it possible?

Hello. I'm following the DCS forum for some time, but, only now, I've registered. The simulator is getting very good. The terrain engine, the models and the flight characteristics are superb!

I've read that it will have a semi dynamic campaign or something like that.

I wanted to ask; why not a fully dynamic campaign? Is it so hard to implement to DCS?

I like Lock on, but, I'm a little tired of the scripted missions concept. After the initial hype, it gets a little boring.

I've read about a dynamic campaign during the Lock on development and FC too; it was never added.

Since 1998, "Falcon 4" and later on "Enemy Engaged", they're on my computer HD. A lot of people including me, just can't be tired of them. Mods are still being made for those two! One of the major reasons, of people having them, I think, is the existence of the dynamic campaign. Depth and fun are added and helps to the re-playability of a simulator.

A dynamic campaign for Blackshark; is it still considered by the developers possible to be added? Maybe as a future add-on to DCS?

Well, thanks' for the development of what looks, will be a remarkable sim!

Best regards,

From the FAQ:

Q: Will DCS include a dynamic campaign system?

A: The initial DCS campaign system will not self-generate missions. However, it will consist of any number of phases, which can include any number of missions. The player will move forward or back through the phases depending to his mission performance. When combined with the mission editor's trigger system, it can provide high replayability value and a sense of player impact on the campaign.

I too would like a fully dynamic campaign, but I think what they have planned will be much more interesting that the scripted missions that we have in Lockon.

Honestly, I'm kinda divided as to my preference on a dynamic versus semi-dynamic campaign. As a mission builder, the new setup will give much more flexibility and many more options to allow you to fully submerse your audience into the story that you wish to tell. From custom sound bytes to triggers to multiple missions per set that the player may or may not go through depending on his/her actions, the mission builder has all the tools he/she needs to tell an interesting, engaging, and most importantly immersive story with multiple endings that rely on the players to decide which specific ending that they will get...

A dynamic campaign may be different every time, but after a while, the lack of a scripted story may affect the players immersion.
